KODIAK VENTURES, L.P. is a early stage Internet and software angel investment fund managed by Berkus Technology Ventures, LLC, known for its successes in over sixty investments in the field since 1993.  Organized in late 1999, the Kodiak fund has  made 50 technology investments in 26 technology companies.

As an angel fund, Kodiak invests in amounts from $25,000 to $300,000, often bringing other angel investors and funds to co-invest in the same round - creating an investment horizon of between $200,000 and $1,500,000.  Kodiak Ventures co-invests with the Tech Coast Angels, one of the country's largest angel investing networks, where Kodiak's Managing Partner, Dave Berkus, recently served as Chairman.

Successful investment candidates should be located within the Southern California area, have already developed a working business model with at least a prototype product, customer or strategic relationships, and be able to demonstrate ability to dominate a niche large enough to build a business of at least $40,000,000 in revenues by year four. Kodiak does not invest in companies whose market capitalization already exceeds ten million dollars. Candidates should submit a brief executive summary by email by pressing the "Contact Us" button below.

The Fund was named after its lead limited partner, the Natives of Kodiak, Inc., a corporation formed to manage the extensive assets of the native Americans of Kodiak, Alaska.  Other limited partners in the Fund are active individual and corporate technology investors from Alaska and California.
